According to the latest report from the print version of L’Equipe, West Ham United have submitted a bid for Olympique Lyon’s star striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The report further suggests that Premier Leauge rivals Tottenham and Manchester United have placed bids of their own for the 24-year-old French striker, however, L’Equipe didn’t make clear whether or not the bids failed.
Although Lacazette hasn’t performed at the same level he did last season, the French striker still has left a huge mark on Ligue 1 this season. With 40 appearances, the 24-year-old has netted himself an impressive 19 goals, making him the second top goal scorer in Ligue 1, only behind PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
With Lacazette having the option to play Champions League football with Lyon next season, it would be hard to see the French international leave to join Manchester United and West Ham, who both are fighting for a spot in the Europa League.
Slaven Bilic has been given the green light by West Ham officials to spend big this summer, and after announcing his plans not to bring back Emenike next season, Bilic’s West Ham will need to add another striker to the team.
