West Ham chairman would ‘love to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic!’

With an impressive season under Slaven Bilic, West Ham United are wanting to continue their dominating ways.

The Hammers currently sit only one point behind fourth-place Manchester City and are hoping to grab a weekend win against Crystal Palace in order to keep themselves in Champions League contention.

Enjoying the brilliant campaign, West Ham’s chiefs are prepared to supply Bilic with a healthy supply of summer transfer funds to boost their competitiveness next season.

However, West Ham’s targets could be a tad ambitious as chairman David Sullivan has told talkSport he would like to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer.

We have a list of about ten strikers all over Europe, and most of our money will go into signing a striker. That is the plan for next season. I’d love Ibrahimovic from PSG, but whether he’d come to us I don’t know. I know he’s 34 but he’s a fantastic player. There are a number of top Premier League players we may be bidding for, top goalscorers, but I can’t name them. I can’t comment on players from other teams. The squad we have at West Ham now is the best we’ve had in six years, by a long, long way. We will be adding to that squad in the summer and hopefully we’ll be a bit better next year.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic would obviously be an amazing pick up for the North London side. However, the target isn’t very realistic if West Ham aren’t able to reach the Champions League.

Hammers’ fans should be excited that the club is prepared to dump money on top players, but Zlatan could be a far stretch for the club.
