James Collins has paid the highest possible tribute to teammate Dimitri Payet by saying that he has never played with or against a better player.
Collins has been in the Premier League since 2005 and has 46 caps for Wales, meaning he has shared the pitch with some of the best players in the world, such as Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez, so to say Payet is the best player he’s seen is high praise indeed.

Speaking to Chirs Bascombe of The Telegraph, Collins said:
It is unbelievable what he does. When he is on it like against Blackburn, like we see in training, I haven’t played with or against anyone better. He is a magic player and the West Ham fans are seeing the best of it. We have to wrap him up in cotton wool and get him out on the pitch as much as we can. He is on fire. He has been tremendous. When he is in the mood there are not many better in the league.
The 32-year-old also spoke about how Payet is off the field and once again, he had nothing but good things to say about the French international.
He’s been one of the best in the league this season. I know it is easy for me to say because I play with him but I see him in training and I know him as a lad in the dressing room. He just doesn’t bring what he does on the pitch, he is a great lad to have around the place. The fans adore him for bringing that sort of football. It is a massive, massive scalp to have him sign on for as long as he has.
Payet has nine goals and eight assists in 25 appearances for the Hammers this season and has been one of the best players in the country. West Ham will be hoping that he can guide them to FA Cup glory in May and also a strong Premier League finish.
