Southampton, Tottenham and West Ham are all monitoring the progress of Augsburg midfielder Dominik Kohr, who will likely feature against Liverpool this week when the Reds play the Bundesliga side in the last 32 of the Europa League.

A number of other Bundesliga clubs are also thought to be keen on the impressive midfielder, as reported in The Mirror.

The 22-year-old German youth international has been at Augsburg since 2014 and has featured in 50 Bundesliga games in that time. He has scored just once in that time, but it is his defensive abilities that are attracting suitors.

Kohr is a holding midfielder and with Alex Song’s future still undecided, it would make sense for the Hammers to be exploring alternatives to the Barcelona man in case he can’t, or decide not to, make his move to West Ham a permanent one.

The German youngster has previously featured for Bayer Leverkusen but really caught the public’s eye at Augsburg where he proved pivotal after becoming a first-team regular.
