Diafra Sakho is desperate to prove he’s the clinical striker West Ham have been searching for for so long.
West Ham have been struck with injuries this season and Sakho is one of the victims who have been sidelined due to injury.
The forward hasn’t featured since the end of November, as he was suffering from a serious thigh injury that kept him away from a total of 12 Premier League games.

The good news for West Ham is that Sakho’s recovery is going really well, as reported by Express, and the player can’t wait to be on the pitch again.
“Honestly, my recovery’s going very well,” insisted Sakho.
The 26-year-old is eager to score goals as he promised the fans he’ll net 20 this season and is planning to keep his promise.
Even though it’s been a lot quicker than what I’d thought, I’m in a hurry to come back because I promised to score 20 goals and at the moment I’m only on five in all competitions. So that leaves 15.
I’m going to try right until the end to keep to my word. Even if the fans say, ‘the whole season he only played 20 or so games’, I hope, in the games that I’m going to play, to respect my words. That’s very important to me.

Sakho says the only thing keeping him away from the football pitch is West Ham’s head of medical. If it were up to him, he’d be running on the field right now.
I want to play right now. I need to play right now, but (head of medical) Stijn (Vandenbroucke) says ‘No, no, I have to wait’.
West Ham are currently sixth in the Premier League, just a point off the fifth place and are still competing in the FA Cup, with a grand finale for the season still within reach.
