West Ham have emerged along with Crystal Palace and Newcastle as clubs said to be interested in making a move for Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey as Slaven Bilic looks to strengthen his West Ham side this month.
The England international was bizarrely dropped from the Swans’ most recent game as they lost 2-1 to Manchester United at Old Trafford despite Shelvey being deemed fully fit ahead of the match.
Crystal Palace and Newcastle have been rumoured to be considering a move for the 23-year-old midfielder this window, however the most recent top flight side to be reportedly interested comes in the form of Bilic’s Hammers.
However, Shelvey did recently reiterate his desire and willingness to remain at the Liberty Stadium in order to fight for his place in the side after falling out of favour under newly appointed caretaker manager Alan Curtis.
The valuation of Shelvey is reportedly around £10 million; a price that West Ham will be very interested in taking advantage of as they look to bolster their already strong midfield options.
Shelvey will be hoping to get more first team football, whether it be at the Swans or the Boleyn Ground, in order to push for his place in England’s Euro 2016 squad in the summer.
