Martin Samuelsen wows Peterborough boss with stunning goal

By now, the magnificent goal by Martin Samuelsen at the weekend has circulated through social media and left quite an impression for the Norwegian. The 18-year-old loanee from West Ham wowed as he scored the winner for Peterborough United in their Saturday match against Sheffield United,  the game finished 3-2.

None were as impressed as Peterborough manager Graham Westley, who said after the victory that Samuelsen would be a star.

“You just say wow. That is what he is here for, we knew we had a chance to work with a Premier League quality player and he will undoubtedly go on and play at that level. There’s no doubt about it. He is raw, he is young, but he has incredible ability and we knew that from the second we saw him. We said on the training ground we are working with one of the stars of the game and let’s enjoy it while we can.”

Samuelsen featured in two Europa League Qualifying matches and has nine U21 Premier League appearances for the Hammers, scoring five goals, before he was sent on loan to Peterborough in League One.

David Gold Tweeted about his conversation with former Peterborough manager Barry Fry after Samuelsen’s goal, and it leads to wonder at how long until the rising star features in the Premier League for West Ham.
