West Ham hopeful of beating Chelsea and Inter Milan to striker

Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato are suggesting West Ham are hoping to improve their striking options with the addition of Boca Juniors forward Jonathan Calleri.

The Argentine striker would bolster the Hammers attacking options, providing fierce competition for the likes of Diafra Sakho, Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia.

The Argentine forward has netted 21 times in 53 appearances for Boca Juniors, creating the hype surrounding him and interest from a number of English clubs.

A whole host of Premier League clubs are interested in bringing Calleri to English football, but West Ham are said to have already made contact with his representatives, causing them to be hopeful that an agreement can be made.

Due to injury troubles, West Ham are currently facing with the likes of Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini, Diafra Sakho, Victor Moses and Enner Valencia all out, Calleri would be a valuable transfer adding first team quality but also strength in depth.
