West Ham join crowded race for highly-rated U21 goalkeeper

West Ham have joined Nottingham Forest and Hull City in the race to sign highly-rated Wycombe Wanderers goalkeeper Matt Ingram.

According to HITC Sport, all three clubs have had scouts watch the impressive 21-year-old in recent times and are all weighing up January moves.

Ingram kept 15 clean sheets last season for Wycombe as they made their way to the League Two play-off final, and already has nine clean sheets in just 21 games this term.

The shot-stopper broke into the team as a teenager and has already racked up 125 appearances for the club in all competitions to date.

However, Ingram has just 18 months left to run on his current deal with the Chairboys, which has led to speculation he could be offloaded in January or risk losing him on the cheap in the near future.

West Ham have Adrian firmly set as their No.1 going forward, but current backup Darren Randolph is only contracted for this season, so Ingram could step in as his replacement in the summer.
