Slaven Bilic has spoken to the press ahead of Sunday’s London derby. The Hammers face in form Tottenham at White Hart lane. West Ham will want to get another win against rivals Tottenham. They’ve won 3 out of the 5 last games between the clubs losing only 1.
The last game against Everton has left West Ham without key man Dimitri Payet for three months. Payet has been exceptional since joining in January and has proved his worth in the premier league.
Slaven said:
On the one hand, West Ham is not only Dimitri Payet, but he is our best player and the most important player for us, especially when we have the ball.
He explained that even though Payet is our best player he isn’t all we’ve got and he still has faith in the rest of the squad to get the performance and result everyone wants.
Slaven also told the media:
Some are saying this is the game of the season for West Ham. I wouldn’t say that, but it is a special game and you can that feel around the camp this week and we’re looking forward to it, of course. We are waiting for it big time.
The London derby is special for everyone. It is a day that is highly anticipated and the game itself never disappoints with West Ham winning the majority of the last five games. The players should feel in good shape to beat Tottenham again.
Lastly, Bilic talked about the tragedy of the Paris attacks:
We are sorry for all the people who died and for their families. We are proud that before every game the Marseillaise will be played.
The French national anthem will be played before every Premier League game this weekend in remembrance of those who died in the recent terror attacks.
