West Ham midfielder could depart after just six months

Italian media outlet Per Sempre Napoli are reporting that the Naples outfit are interested in taking midfielder Pedro Obiang back to Serie A, in spite of the Spaniard making the move to West Ham United just months ago.

The 23-year-old signed for the Boleyn Ground club from Sampdoria during the summer, however Napoli are said to be rather keen on loaning him in January. Fellow midfielder Jonathan De Guzman could be offered in exchange as well, with the Canadian said to be out-of-favour in Italy at the moment.

Obiang has had a good start to life in the top tier of English football, making it extremely unlikely that he would depart Upton Park so soon.

He is yet to have made an international appearance for the Spanish first team, however he has featured for the U21 side on several occasions. Therefore, staying in East London is clearly the most sensible decision that would benefit Obiang’s career.
