West Ham bid £10m for continental striker during the summer

Turkish Football are reporting that Galatasaray received a £10m bid for West Ham target, Burak Yilmaz. The forward is one of the highest valued players in Turkey and has a £30 million release clause.

The Metro also reported that the striker had agreed a £6.4m deal to join the Hammers. With personal terms having been agreed between the player and the club before the deadline, they were unable to agree a fee. West Ham manager Slaven Bilic will already know Yilmaz from his time at Besiktas in the last two years.

West Ham were on the lookout for a striker following injuries to Valencia, Zarate and Carroll. This has left space for a forward at West Ham and they would have loved to have been able to bring him in alongside their other star signing, Dimitri Payet.

West Ham won 2-0 against Newcastle on Monday night and Sakho led the line, with Carroll coming on late in the game. Bilic will hope Carroll will be able to return from injury for good.
