West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna has taken to social media to vent his frustration at being substituted during today’s dramatic 4-3 loss at home to Bournemouth.
The summer signing from Juventus was hauled off in the first half after the Hammers went 2-0 down early due to some lackadaisical defending and some great finishing from Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson.
Slaven Bilic confirmed after the game that Ogbonna’s substitution for James Tomkins “was tactical” and that “it could have been any of them [defenders]”.
However, that hasn’t appeased Ogbonna, who tweeted his frustration at being the fall guy for our terrible start.
Haunted and unhappy match! I have to accept the coach’s decisions but I was disappointed when i had to go back to the bench after 35′ #WHUFC

I was not playing badly. However I don’t give up, we don’t give up! #WHUFC #WHUBOU

West Ham were more defensively sound after his departure from the pitch as they began to make a comeback and leveled the game inside ten minutes into the second half.
However, they were caught twice on the break in search of a potential winner, which saw Carl Jenkinson sent off for a tug on Max Gradel, making him West Ham’s fifth sending off in nine competitive games this season.
