West Ham have held talks with Nigerian Premier League side FC Ifeanyi Ubah, named after their owner DR Ifeanyi Ubah, over a potential partnership deal between the clubs.
According to African source SuperSport, the two clubs are nearing an agreement over the deal, which is expected to be closed before the end of the month.
The owner of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side Dr Ubah, along with the chairman of the club, Chukwuma Ubah, were among the contingent of club officials that met with West Ham officials in London over a two-day meeting period last week.
Ifeanyi Ubah club officials conducted an official presentation to West Ham managing director Angus Kinner, who in turn put forward his ideas towards a possible proposal.
The next day, having come away impressed with the Nigerian side’s proposal, Kinnear introduced David Gold to the discussion.
Gold and Dr Ubah has a private conversation after to cement the partnership and hammer out final details of the agreement.
What this deal will look to do is exchange training programmes between the clubs, player scouting arrangements, help advance youth player development strategies and help train some up-and-coming coaches in Africa, as well as promote a keen business ethic.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah are 10th in the Nigerian Premier League.
