West Ham striker target set to snub the club for Champions League football

West Ham United striker target Emmanuel Adebayor could be set to snub the club in favour of a move to Lazio, according to Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a move to Upton Park for the majority of the month, but it would appear that the forward has various options to consider including Premier League side Aston Villa. Adebayor has a good relationship with his former manager Tim Sherwood, so Villa Park could be a real possibility.

Lazio would perhaps be a more viable proposition for the Togolese international, as they can offer Adebayor Champions League football this season. However, it would be difficult to foresee the Serie A side being able to afford his rather large wages.

In addition to 29 goals in 63 international appearances for Togo’s national team, Adebayor has a plethora of footballing experience, having played for Real Madrid, Arsenal and Monaco throughout his career. In 2007/08, he also made the PFA Team of the Year, showing the ability he possesses.
