West Ham defender set for surprise exit

West Ham are ready to listen to offers from other clubs for James Collins, according to the Daily Mirror. The Welsh centre-half has played 131 games for West Ham. However, with the recent arrival of Angelo Ogbonna, Collins has slipped down to fourth in the pecking order.

James Collins would become the latest departure at Upton Park with Stewart Downing leaving not too long ago, and Norwich City have showed signs of interest, and may make a bid.

However, if James Collins leaves West Ham now it wouldn’t be a farewell to remember. In his last game for West Ham, he got a red card in the Europa league game against Astra Giurgiu where we drew 2-2 at the Boleyn Ground.

In addition to the first team players, West Ham do also have some good cover for the centre-back position so if James Collins does depart, do not expect a signing with youngsters Reece Burke and Reece Oxford hungry for game time.
