West Ham are continuing in their efforts to sign Alex Song according to the Boleyn Insider.
The Barcelona man who spent last season on loan at West Ham has been at the center of speculation throughout the summer transfer window. After a successful loan spell, all signs pointed towards a return for the midfielder before a nasty injury meant the deal hit difficulties.
The Insider claims talks are progressing, and progressing well at that. “I understand that the club’s interest in Alex Song continues and talks with the relevant representatives are progressing well”
Song became a fan favourite during his time at West Ham and it is clear to see the fans would love to have him back at the club. Should West Ham be unable to land the midfielder, Slaven Bilic has a contingency plan.
Recent reports have linked the club with a move for Hull midfielder Tom Huddlestone, who has a lowered release clause in his contract following the Tigers’ relegation from the Premier League.
Steve Bruce later admitted he was powerless to stop Huddlestone from making the move to return to the top flight. Who would you rather see in claret and blue?
