West Ham making move to sign 32-goal striker

West Ham are interested in making a move for ex-Arsenal striker Benik Afobe from Wolves, who’s also linked with Aston Villa.

According to the Express, the Hammers join Aston Villa in the race for the England U21 international striker who spent five years at the Emirates but never made a first-team appearance for the Gunners.

The 22-year-old boasts a very impressive goalscoring record. Afobe scored 10 goals in 22 games in League One last season while on loan with the MK Dons, which led to him signing on a permanent deal with Championship side Wolves in January.

He continued his form in the second half of the season, scoring 13 goals in 21 Championship games. He finished the season with 32 goals and 10 assists in 51 games, making him the top English goalscorer in the Football League for the 2014/15 season.

Afobe also has two in two games this season, showing no signs of slowing up. He could be the talented young striker West Ham have been crying out for as injuries pile up.
