Norwich City are eyeing up a move to sign West Ham defender James Collins this summer, according to the Sunday Express.
Collins is a real Hammers stalwart as he enters his eighth seasons with the club over two spells, and the Welshman is a real fan-favourite at Upton Park.
However, with the arrival of Italian Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus earlier this summer who’s established himself in the first-team early on this season has seen ‘Ginge’ fall out of the matchday squad.
Since his £2.25m return from Aston Villa in 2012, he’s made 76 appearances for the club, but with only one-year left on his deal and not getting any younger, the soon-to-be 32-year-old centre-back seems to be on the way out, whether it’s this summer or next summer.
No one would blame him for pursuing an opportunity elsewhere with game-time at Upton Park hard to come by now with the emergence of Reece Burke and Reece Oxford in the squad.
Norwich could present a good platform for Collins to play some games towards the back end of his career, providing great experience and leadership to the newly-promoted side battling against the drop.
