West Ham trying to sign another La Liga striker on a season-long loan

West Ham are considering a loan move to sign former Manchester City and Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo this summer, according to the Metro.

They claim that Valencia manager Nuno Santo is not impressed by the big Spaniard during their time together and wants to offload the striker this summer.

Valencia signed the 29-year-old on a season-long loan last summer, which contained an obligatory buy clause of £19.6m, despite only scoring five goals in 30 games last term.

Bilic is keen to work with a traditional centre-forward and has looked into signing Negredo on a season-long loan with a view to buy.

West Ham are without several key strikers at the moment, with both Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia sidelined through injury, and now fresh reports claiming that Diafra Sakho was arrested on domestic assault claims.

The Hammers actually tried to sign Negredo in 2013 whilst at Sevilla and saw a £14.5m bid turned down for the Spanish international, who eventually signed for Manchester City in a deal worth £17.5m

Negredo impressed in the Premier League for City, scoring 23 goals in 49 games for the club but was immediately sent to Valencia as he lost his place in the side the following summer.
