West Ham to move for Spanish Premier League striker

West Ham United could make a shock swoop for Swansea City striker Michu, according to Ladbrokes. The Spanish striker scored 18 Premier League goals during the 2012/13 campaign but has struggled to find the back of the net since then.

The Welsh club opted to loan out the 29-year-old last season to Serie A side Napoli, however he failed to make a huge impact in Italy. Now, the Hammers may make a shock swoop for him as manager Slaven Bilic struggles to tie down a deal for a goal scorer.

Michu has just one international cap for the Spanish national side, and Swansea manager Garry Monk is still coming to terms with the fact that he is still at the club. He spoke out on the situation to Wales Online:

I am a little surprised that nothing has happened yet. Michu is a good player. Hopefully it can be sorted soon as that’s the best for both parties.

The East London club were unfortunate to miss out on Raul Jimenez, and with key front-men Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia currently struggling with long-term injury problems, time is running out to get someone to sign on the dotted line.
