West Ham Reject The Chance To Sign Swiss Midfielder

West Ham United will not be signing Gokhan Inler this summer, with the midfielder set to choose between Leicester City and Schalke. The 31-year-old had been linked with a move to the Boleyn Ground, however according to Forza Italian Football, the Irons will not be making a move for him.

Slaven Bilic is said to be still on the hunt for a central defensive midfielder in the current window, having opted not to sign former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton. Alex Song also looks set to miss out on a move to Upton Park, due to his serious injury issues.

Inler is likely to opt for Leicester City, having had history with current Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri in the top tier of Italian football. The veteran has six goals in 83 international appearances for the Switzerland national side. At his current club Napoli, he has enjoyed two triumphs in the Italian Cup, during 2012 and 2014.
