Irons Handed Boost In Pursuit Of Destro

West Ham United have been given a lifeline in the race to sign Roma striker Mattia Destro, as according to the Daily Express, the capital city club are willing to let him leave for a fee of just £6.3million.

Fellow Premier League sides Arsenal and Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old striker, with the latter needing to replace the recently sold  Christian Benteke.

However, Serie A side Bologna are seemingly the favourites to land the Italian, who has been capped at international level for Italy on eight occasions.

Destro scored five goals in eight starts for Roma during the 2014/15 league campaign, before being loaned out to AC Milan, in which he netted a further three league goals. He also featured in the UEFA Champions League last season.

Slaven Bilic is desperately in need of another striker at the Boleyn Ground, and Destro could be the answer. He was first linked with the Hammers earlier in the summer.
