West Ham captain Kevin Nolan is nearing an exit from West Ham this summer.
According to the Express, Championship side Bolton are making a stronger play to bring the midfielder back to the Reebok Arena before the end of the transfer window.
Nolan spent 10 years with Bolton, playing in 296 games and scoring 40 goals for the club, and could be persuaded to move back.
He recently stated how he had no interest in warming the bench for the Hammers this season, and with only a year to run on his current contract, Bolton manager Neil Lennon believes he can lure the Englishman back home.
Nolan currently earns in the region of £50,000-a-week at Upton Park, and would have to take a pay cut to return to Bolton, but they believe that the homecoming factor – much like the one which tempted Stewart Downing back to Middlesbrough, could sway him.
With the emergence of Diego Poyet and Reece Oxford as midfield options, it seems like Nolan will be leaving sooner or later.
