West Ham have joined the race to sign Brazilian centre-back Douglas to reinforce the defence, according to Calciomercato.
The 27-year-old has dual nationality with Holland have spent much of the early part of his career with FC Twente, and has been linked with Newcastle to reunite with his former Twente boss Steve McClaren.
But now the centre-back is being eyed up by Slaven Bilic to add depth to his defence, with Galatasaray also said to be keen on the play.
Galatasaray failed to lure Tottenham defender Vlad Chiriches to Turkey, who is now set to join Napoli, they are now looking at signing Douglas, but willneed to fend off interest from the Hammers.
He’s made 52 appearances for the Russian club since signing two years ago, scoring three goals, and would add some much-needed athleticism to our back four.
However the club already have four senior centre-backs at the club, so it would be a strange move to say the least.
