Hammers Given Green Light To Sign Cambiasso

West Ham are on the brink of adding another quality midfielder to their ranks with news of Esteban Cambiasso’s refusal to renew his contract at Leicester City.

Further to the news brought to you by Read West Ham on Sunday, Slaven Bilic’s interest in Cambiasso has been boosted in recent hours.

The Argentine midfielder, who came close to a move to East London last season, has turned down the chance to build upon his good season at Leicester City, and the Hammers are working hard on a deal with his agent.

With the departure of Stewart Downing to Middlesbrough last week, Bilic is keen to fill the hole left behind by the 31 year-old. Cambiasso’s five goals in 33 games last campaign would prove to be a useful addition to the West Ham core.

The Argentine could thrive by joining up with compatriot Manuel Lanzini, who’s season-long loan from Al Jazira was confirmed yesterday. He also brings European experience to the table after spells at Real Madrid and Inter Milan in a rather impressive career to date.
