Hammers Encouraged In Beauvue Chase

West Ham have been boosted in their efforts to sign prolific Guingamp striker Claudio Beauvue.

L’Equipe have reported this morning that the 27-year-old has ‘never hidden his desire’ of wanting to play in English football, as the Hammers are monitoring his situation.

Earlier this summer is was also reported that the striker, who scored 23 goals in 47 games last season, would be leaving the Ligue 1 side this summer after he was promised he would be free to leave should he have an outstanding season. With a goal every other game (near enough) that appears to be the case.

Beauvue was set for a move to Marseille, but nothing has come of their initial interest, and is now being touted for a very wealthy move to Qatar with Al Jaish, who are willing to offer the forward huge wages in order to join.

The Guadeloupe international would likely have no work permit issues as he would have a French passport and has come through the youth system as Nantes. Everton are also reportedly interested in the player.
