West Brom are rivalling West Ham for the signing of Besiktas striker Demba Ba, reports The Times.
It’s claimed that Slaven Bilic, former Besiktas manager, wants to bring Demba Ba back to West Ham this summer.
The 30-year-old spent half a season with the Hammers during the 2010/11 season, scoring seven goals in 12 games, but left on a free transfer following our relegation.
However, Ba is quoted as saying he wants to leave the turkish club, over a dispute about money.
“I do not want to play at Besiktas,” Ba is reported to have said. “I’m wearing a different team’s kit in the new season.”
The Senegalese international signed for Besiktas last summer for a reported £4.5m, and scored 27 goals in 44 games in all competitions.
Tony Pulis, West Brom manager, wants to sign Ba having missed out on signing him back when he was manager of Stoke.
He turned the player down due to a failed medical and concerns about his knee. Demba Ba went on to score 50 goals in English football during his three-and-a-half year stay.
