Newcastle are hoping they can persuade West Ham to sell Andy Carroll to them this summer, on one condition, claims the Chronicle.
The 26-year-old started his career so brightly with Newcastle before his £35m move to Liverpool in 2011 saw his career stagnate.
Carroll has struggled with injuries throughout his career, with his latest, an MCL tear, likely to see him miss another 4-6 weeks of action, but the player has now returned to one-on-one training.
The Toon, short of strikers, wants to bring the England international back to Tyneside, if the Hammers would be willing to take a hit on their initial £15m investment in the player.
14 goals in just over 50 appearances for the club wouldn’t suggest that West Ham could command a large fee for the player, but if they can get anything over £10m they might be persuaded to cut their losses on the club’s highest earner.
