Spurs Moving In For Obiang

Tottenham are making a move for Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang, according to Tuttosport.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham in the summer, with a reported €7.5m fee agreed between the two clubs.

The Spaniard moved to Italy as a 16-year-old for a nominal fee from the Atletico Madrid youth set-up, and has become a first team regular the last few seasons.

News of West Ham’s reported agreement for his transfer has forced Spurs’ hand, and they have since made an undisclosed offer for the player.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to replace Etienne Capoue, Benjamin Stambouli and Nabil Bentaleb in the Spurs squad, and believes Obiang is a move in the right direction.
