West Ham’s recruitment policy has come under great scrutiny this season due to the lack of success they’ve had in their debut season. The club have spent over £70m on signings this season but have seen themselves fall down from seventh to eleventh in the table and flirted with relegation at certain points. Whether it’s […]
West Ham will be in the market for a proven right-back in the summer and a player they have their eyes on is Manchester City stalwart Pablo Zabaleta. Since making a £6m transfer to the Etihad in August 2008, Zabaleta has made 228 Premier League appearances for Manchester City and played an integral part in […]
West Ham spent most of last summer chasing a deal to sign Carlos Bacca from AC Milan which at one point looked very promising but fell through at the eleventh hour. Despite the Hammers being ready and willing to meet the Colombian’s £25.6m release clause and hand the player a wage hike, Bacca was unsure […]
Last summer, West Ham spent many weeks negotiating a deal with Besiktas for the transfer of Gokhan Tore. Slaven Bilic worked closely with the winger during their time together in Turkey and even tried to sign the former Chelsea youth star during his first season in charge of the Hammers. After failing with several permanent […]
Last summer’s recruitment was, for the most part, a big failure, so West Ham have it all to do this summer to right those wrongs. Two problem areas for the Hammers remain between the sticks and in front of goal, but they’re planning a double swoop on Sunderland to fill those voids. According to the […]
This season really hasn’t gone as planned for West Ham. Another early exit from the Europa League compounded by some inconsistent Premier League form finds the Hammers in an irrelevant mix for mid-table placings with just three games to play. Two decades ago, West Ham were lauded for their investment into young talent and giving […]
What a time to pull off the greatest performance of the season! Any game against Tottenham is always going to be tough, hard-fought and physical, but tonight, West Ham stepped it up a gear and were tenacious for the full 90 minutes. Slaven Bilic’s side employed a high press that put Tottenham under duress, especially […]
Tonight’s game between West Ham and Spurs is set to be a nail-biting test of will for both teams. Although they may hail from opposite ends of the table, both desperately need the win for completely different reasons. West Ham are currently 15th in the Premier League, with 39 points – a whole seven points clear […]
West Ham will undoubtedly be in the market for defensive recruits in the summer and according to talkSPORT, they have their eyes on former Arsenal defender Johan Djourou. Djourou has spent the last few years in the Bundesliga with Hamburg where for the most part he’s enjoyed some fine form and recaptured his place in […]
With just three games left this season, West Ham want to end the campaign on a high note and it begins with the visit of Tottenham tonight. Slaven Bilic’s position will be reviewed at the end of the season and he too would like a strong end to the season to keep himself in a […]
Diafra Sakho’s 2016/17 season has virtually been spent entirely in the treatment room. After falling out with the coaching staff last summer with the club looking for a marquee striker signing to seemingly replace him, Sakho’s season got off to a slow start with the striker refusing to take part in pre-season activities. A £16m […]
West Ham tried and failed with multiple bids exceeding £10m for Jermain Defoe during the January transfer window but there was always an acknowledgement that they would try again at the end of the season. Now Sunderland’s relegation to the Championship has been confirmed, Defoe is free to leave the Black Cats for nothing when […]
