Pay back for Pablo – Portuguese forward dedicates goal to the West Ham fans

West Ham lineup vs Bolton

Pablo Felipe was delighted to hit the net in Wednesday’s rout over Lincoln City in the Championship.

A crazy game brought two red cards in the first half for the hosts, with the Hammers securing a breakthrough on the stroke of half-time.

A further five goals were unanswered in the second half, as the visitors dominated.

It was Pablo who secured the fourth goal of the night at Sincil Bank, as part of an all-round impressive performance.

Pablo puts on a show for the Hammers

“I’m very happy to score my first league goal for this Club,” he told the official club website.

“I was waiting for this moment; I worked hard for it.

“I’m happy to score that first goal and help the team. We achieved a great result today and are happy with the match.

“It was a great match, added Pablo.

“We showed great patience in finding the spaces. They were very compact, even with two men down, but we remained patient and clear-headed to get the result and secure a big win today.

“The fans put on a great show here, too, so we are very happy with the result and the victory, which is the most important thing.”

Repay the fans affection

Pablo’s front post header was his first league strike for the Irons, coming after he netted in the 3-2 home defeat to Fulham in the Carabao Cup last month.

His momentum is welcome, just as the collective effort appears to be improving for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

With 29 goals scored, the Hammers are the most prolific team in the league so far this season, reflected in a superior goal difference of +17.

They are just four points behind league leaders Swansea, and two behind Middlesbrough.

The emphatic 6-0 win over Lincoln City should have confidence running through the squad, with the fans embracing such a positive performance.

Their backing was loud and clear all night long in the cathedral city.

Pablo Felipe continued to extend his appreciation for the supporters and what they have given him, personally.

“The fans are always incredible. Even during the times I wasn’t scoring, they always supported me and supported the team during tough moments.

“So, I’m happy to have their support and to always give my best on the pitch, doing my job so I can repay their affection out there.”
