Former West Ham striker Michail Antonio found guilty over Lamborghini case

Former West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has been found guilty of failing to identify the driver of his Lamborghini following an incident in central London.

The 36-year-old appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday after the Metropolitan Police asked him to identify who had been driving his Lamborghini Urus during an incident on Pall Mall last November.

Antonio denied being behind the wheel and told the court he had been in Manchester visiting his children at the time.

However, magistrates found him guilty of failing to provide the required driver information.

Michail Antonio found guilty after Pall Mall incident

Antonio was the registered keeper of the Lamborghini when it was involved in an incident on Pall Mall at around 12.38am on 5 November 2025.

The Metropolitan Police wrote to him on 12 November requesting the identity of the driver.

Antonio told Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court that he had not received the original police letter and was “shocked” when he later discovered he had been charged.

He told magistrates that the vehicle had been loaned out while he was away.

Antonio said a car-hire contact had collected the relevant paperwork after the charge arrived and that he believed details of the driver had subsequently been supplied.

The court rejected that defence.

Magistrate Ian Comfort said the panel was satisfied the police notice had arrived and concluded Antonio had not complied with the legal requirement to provide the information.

Antonio could now face driving ban

The conviction could have further consequences for Antonio’s driving licence.

He already has six penalty points following a conviction for driving without insurance in July 2025.

Today’s offence could therefore result in additional points and leave him facing disqualification under the totting-up system.

Antonio also has a separate case relating to his Lamborghini being recorded speeding in Birmingham in March 2025.

He had originally been convicted in his absence of failing to identify the driver in that matter, but Sky Sports reported that the conviction was set aside in June.

That case is now due to be reheard at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court next March.

Michail Antonio recently returned to English football

Antonio’s court appearance comes less than a week after he completed a return to English football.

The striker signed for Watford after previously spending time with Al-Sailiya in Qatar.

His connection to West Ham remains significant.

Antonio spent ten years with the Hammers and remains the club’s record Premier League goalscorer with 68 goals.

He left East London in 2025 after his contract expired following a lengthy recovery from the serious car crash he suffered in December 2024.

For now, Antonio’s latest legal issue is separate from his football return with Watford, but Thursday’s verdict leaves him facing the prospect of losing his driving licence.
