West Ham offered Victor Nelsson as two centre-back signings considered

West Ham have been offered Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson as Nuno Espírito Santo considers signing up to two centre-backs before the transfer window closes.

The Denmark international has emerged as a potential option following contact from his representatives, while Brentford defender Ethan Pinnock also remains under consideration.

According to The West Ham Way, Nelsson’s agent has alerted West Ham to the 27-year-old’s availability.

The approach comes as the Hammers assess defensive reinforcements following Saturday’s disappointing defeat against Charlton Athletic, after which Nuno admitted he feels under pressure.

Victor Nelsson offers West Ham another defensive option

Nelsson spent last season on loan with Hellas Verona, having previously represented Copenhagen, Galatasaray and Roma.

Galatasaray confirmed the original agreement with Verona included an €8 million purchase option. However, that figure related specifically to his previous loan and should not be mistaken for a current West Ham offer or asking price.

No bid or formal negotiations have been reported.

West Ham must also balance recruitment against their wider financial situation, with further player sales potentially required if their promotion bid falters.

Those constraints could influence whether the club pursue Nelsson, Pinnock or an alternative defensive target.

Ethan Pinnock remains under consideration

Pinnock is another name under discussion as West Ham explore experienced defensive options.

The Brentford centre-back was an unused substitute during their 3-0 Premier League victory against Tottenham.

His Premier League experience and leadership qualities could appeal to Nuno following West Ham’s difficult start to their Championship campaign.

ExWHUEmployee indicated that the club expect to add at least one defender, with the possibility of a second arrival also being discussed.

That could create further movement within the existing squad, with academy defender Kaelan Casey potentially allowed to leave if two centre-backs are recruited.

West Ham return to action against Southampton on Tuesday, when James Ward-Prowse could make his first start against his former club.
