West Ham United have reportedly insisted Jarrod Bowen is not for sale after Crystal Palace were linked with a potential £50million move for the club captain.
Palace are understood to be considering Bowen as a possible attacking addition, but West Ham’s position appears unchanged despite the financial pressure created by relegation.
Claret and Hugh reports that a highly placed West Ham source responded directly to the speculation by saying: “Jarrod Bowen is not for sale.”
No formal offer from Crystal Palace has been confirmed.
West Ham respond to Jarrod Bowen transfer speculation
The Sun reported that Palace were preparing a potential £50m approach as they consider replacements for Ismaïla Sarr.
The Senegal international has attracted interest from Galatasaray, potentially leaving Palace searching for another established attacker.
However, West Ham have consistently treated Bowen differently from other players who could depart following relegation.
The club’s financial position has increased the importance of balancing player sales against their promotion ambitions, but losing their captain would significantly weaken Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad.
Other exits appear more realistic.
Olympiacos have submitted an €8m offer for Edson Álvarez, while Brentford continue pursuing left-back Malick Diouf.
Bowen, by contrast, has already publicly committed himself to helping West Ham return to the Premier League.
Jarrod Bowen has already committed to West Ham
Sky Sports reported in July that Bowen intended to remain at West Ham, with his contract running until 2030.
“The main motivation for me is staying and bringing this club back into the Premier League where we belong,” Bowen said.
The England international scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists across all competitions last season.
His importance has increased following West Ham’s difficult opening to the Championship campaign.
Nuno admitted he felt under pressure after Saturday’s defeat to Charlton Athletic, leaving the Hammers without a league victory after two matches.
Selling Bowen now would remove the player expected to lead their promotion challenge at precisely the moment the squad requires stability.
Palace may still decide to make an offer, but there is currently no indication that West Ham want to negotiate or that Bowen has changed his position.
