West Ham United increasingly expect Taty Castellanos to remain at the club this summer despite interest from Everton. The Argentine striker appears likely to lead Nuno Espírito Santo’s attack during the Championship promotion campaign.
The i reports that a departure now looks less likely than it did earlier in the window. Everton retain an interest in Castellanos, but there is no indication that a deal is close.
West Ham signed the 27-year-old from Lazio in January. His contract runs until 2030, while the club also hold an option for another season.
Castellanos finished the campaign strongly and scored in the final-day win over Leeds United. However, the victory could not prevent West Ham from dropping into the Championship.

Keeping Castellanos would provide Nuno with valuable certainty in attack. The striker works hard without the ball, presses defenders and can link play with runners around him.
West Ham have already lost Callum Wilson, while further changes are expected across the forward line. Selling Castellanos would leave the club needing another proven striker before the league season begins.
West Ham previously had no intention of selling Castellanos after Everton and Fulham registered interest. The club had also received an offer worth around €15million, but that figure fell well below their valuation.
The striker’s future could still change if Everton make a significant proposal. Nevertheless, West Ham now appear confident that Castellanos will remain in east London.
Nuno needs players capable of handling the demands of a 46-game Championship season. Retaining Castellanos would give him a reliable focal point and avoid another disruptive search for a first-choice striker.
