Nuno Espirito Santo has declared his wish to stay at West Ham United, even if he cannot keep the Hammers in the Premier League.
According to the Telegraph, the former Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers boss is committed to the West Ham project and wants to remain with the club, even if it means trying to bring them back from the Championship.
Since Nuno joined the club, there has been an upturn in results but with three games left, the Hammers sit one point in the relegation zone after losing 3-0 to Brentford on Saturday.
Nuno wants to remain at West Ham
Since late January, Nuno has helped West Ham to revive their season and give them a chance to stay in the Premier League. A side that was once seven points adrift, was two points into safety just two days ago.
The winter recruitment was solid, with the likes of Axel Disasi and Valentin Castellanos showing their worth, but with three games left, everyone knows their is still a lot of work to do.
Since joining the club, Nuno has helped to steady a sinking ship. Despite this, even if West Ham remain in the top flight, this summer will be unsettling for all involved. The club need to sell in order settle debts and strengthen the playing squad. This, alongside the ever changing landscape in the boardroom could see the club needing someone who can keep things calm on the pitch.
Nuno can deliver this, and he may have to do so in the division below.
