- Pablo Felipe signed for the club in January 2026
- Forward has been nominated for Premier League Creative Moment of the Month
- Brazilians’ assist to Valentín Castellanos highlights the pair’s partnership
In attempts to preserve their Premier League status, West Ham United’s business in the winter window is proving to be the decisive factor in the club’s relegation fight, with the various nominations highlighting the Hammers’ improvement in form.
In the last week, Nuno Espirito Santo has been nominated for Manager of the Month. Jarrod Bowen and Konstantinos Mavropanos have also both been nominated for Player of the Month for their contributions in the month of April.
Pablo Felipe has recently been shortlisted for the Premier League’s Creative Moment of the Month award for April. The Brazilian forward, who signed for the club from Gil Vicente in January 2026, joins an illustrious list including Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo, Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly and Leeds United’s Brenden Aaronson.
Pablo and Valentín Castellanos partnership’s impact on West Ham’s improved form
Although Pablo’s numbers don’t suggest a substantial contribution, his on-pitch performances paint another picture. His sole league involvement in an Irons shirt: an ingenious backheel flick on the run to set up Valentín Castellanos‘ goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers is the reason for his nomination.
As the 22-year-old Braga-born forward showed in the aforementioned 4-0 win, Pablo’s penchant for unpredictability has added a needed dynamism to the Hammers’ attack.
Alongside fellow January signing Castellanos, the forward duo have built a partnership in their first few months that has helped West Ham gain 20 of their 36 Premier League points since January and take control of their destiny as they aim to stave off relegation.
The Hammers focused on the league task at hand after losing to Leeds United on penalties in the FA Cup at the beginning of the month.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side’s home victory over now-relegated Wolves kick-started a momentum that has seen West Ham win seven points and go undefeated.
In their recent outing, Callum Wilson notched the match-winner off the bench against Everton. It is to the understated partnership of Pablo and Castellanos that the once-international centre forward has been reduced to a substitute role.
