- West Ham face Crystal Palace at 8PM BST tonight
- The Hammers can move to four points above the relegation zone with a win
- Former Premier League striker, Chris Sutton has predicted tonight’s game
West Ham United travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in another huge game in the hunt for Premier League survival this season. The Hammers are a point above the relegation zone and a win would go a long way in their efforts to say up, whilst piling the pressure on Tottenham Hotspur.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are in good spirits after winning their last game 4-0 over Wolverhampton Wanderers. That victory took them out of the bottom three, where they still remain after Spurs failed to beat Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday evening.
West Ham now face Crystal Palace tonight, with the Eagles coming off a huge night in Florence on Thursday, where they moved into the final four of Europa Conference League. The Hammers will be hoping for some tired legs but it has already been confirmed that Maxence Lacroix, who left the pitch early on Thursday, will be available tonight.
A win tonight would see the Hammers go four points above the drop zone and continue to fuel their confidence that they can stay up this season.
Chris Sutton predicts Crystal Palace vs West Ham
BBC Sport’s Chris Sutton has predicted the outcome of tonight’s game and whilst he backs the West Ham to perform, the former striker knows it will be tough game all round.
“As well as being important, this is a tough game for the Hammers too. Crystal Palace left it very late to beat Newcastle but they have now taken seven points from their past three games and seem to have found some form again.
“The Eagles are safe but I am still a little bit worried about West Ham. Yes they played well against Wolves last time out, but they were very nervy until they took the lead.
“This is going to be tense for them too. I don’t say this about many of my predictions, but I am pretty certain about how this will end up – with the points shared.”
The former Premier League winner has the game ending 1-1, in a result that would see the Hammers move back to two points above the drop zone.
