- Jarrod Bowen named in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad
- The Three Lions play friendlies against Uruguay and Japan next week
- The West Ham captain has made 20 England caps to date
West Ham United may have their own priorities in the Premier League this season but the international call ups have been coming thick and fast. With the FIFA World Cup approaching, a number of Hammers have been selected for next week’s international break, the final time nations will group together before this summer’s tournament.
Mads Hermansen, Tomas Soucek and Callum Marshall have all made their nation’s squad ahead of their qualification playoffs. Konstantinos Mavropanos and Keiber Lamadrid have been called up to their nations, but there is nothing at stake on the pitch for them as unfortunately both Greece and Venezuela failed to qualify for the World Cup.
West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen now joins the number of Irons receiving the call from their national teams. The 29-year-old has made 20 caps for England and has been named in every squad under boss Thomas Tuchel. Bowen will know he can make his mark in the last-full-camp before the World Cup squad is selected.
Bowen joins El Hadji Malick Diouf as a Hammer to join up with a nation already qualified for this summer’s tournament and in full preparations mode.
Jarrod Bowen’s West Ham form
The West Ham captain has been as important as ever to the Hammers this season. After an underwhelming first-half by his standards, Bowen has begin to hit the levels he’s used to under the Nuno Espirito Santo.
At present, the 29-year-old has the most goal involvements of any English player in the Premier League this season. As captain, Bowen has been vocal all year about West Ham‘s disappointing slide but as much as he wasn’t able to stop things in 2025, he has helped rejuvenate the team this year.
Jarrod Bowen’s 2025/26 West Ham United Statistics
| Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 33 | 10 | 7 |
There are few players like Bowen within the Premier League, let alone the Premier League. The winger has been a great servant to the Hammers and will be so important should they stay up this season.
No one from a West Ham perspective will say that Bowen doesn’t deserve to be in the England squad in this window. All will be hoping he keeps his good form going, book’s his ticket to the World Cup and come back to secure the Iron’s Premier League survival.
