West Ham stars are reportedly ‘furious’ in the wake of the fine handed out to central defender Kurt Zouma.
The 27-year-old was punished following a disturbing video on social media earlier in the week and was subsequently fined.
However, the Frenchman isn’t out of the woods yet as many continue to call for further consequences.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, as cited by Sami Mokbel on Twitter, Zouma’s teammates are also angry over the incident.
Kurt Zouma latest:
– West Ham face questions over wages after his £250k fine effectively confirms him as top earner
– Team-mates feel the backlash has been too severe
– Zouma will avoid FA punishment
– A sense the backlash has had racist undertones https://t.co/GeaJjc1uil— Sami Mokbel (@SamiMokbel81_DM) February 10, 2022
In fact, many within the Irons’ squad are said to be demanding wage rises after the 11-cap ace’s salary was inadvertently revealed, leading to ‘dissatisfaction’ amongst the squad.
Having featured in the win over Watford, it was reported that the centre-back had been fined two weeks’ wages, amounting to £250,000 to be paid to animal charities.

It never rains but it pours on this story.
Not to diminish the severity of the incident, or indeed the punishment, it would seem this saga is creating one problem after another.
Under contract at the London Stadium until 2025 (Transfermarkt), West Ham still have a big decision to make over their star’s long-term future at the club – particularly in the wake of Dagenham & Redbridge suspending Yoan Zouma, brother of the French ace.
Not only has the incident upset the wider world, it now appears to have disrupted the harmony within the camp.
David Moyes certainly has a big call to make whether or not to include Zouma against Leicester City on Sunday.
