West Ham may have won just one in their last seven matches in all competitions but there is certainly still a feel-good factor at the London Stadium.
The latest defeat came at the hands of London rivals Tottenham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final stage.
Despite the disappointing run, the Hammers are still sat fifth in the Premier League and in the knockout phase of the Europa League.
First-team coach Stuart Pearce spoke to talkSPORT (Thursday, December 23 7:50am) where the 59-year-old moonlights as an occasional pundit and was upbeat over the position and the upcoming window.
We gave a couple of sloppy goals away which we are disappointed with but, in the main, the comradery, togetherness and the worth ethic of our team are sensational. We’re in a good place as a club, that’s for sure. We’re certainly doing the work in trying to get people in. They’ve got to the right people – that’s the most important thing.
Pearce went on to say if the ‘right people are available at the right price’ the club will ‘be in the mix’ to make signings.
For the Irons, attention now turns to a Boxing Day meeting with Southampton.

One thing that has been noticeable when it comes to the transfer dealings under David Moyes is that the Scot won’t sign purely for the sake of it.
Instead, the experienced boss would rather be inactive than bring in players that may not benefit the squad perfectly.
With a central defender and a striker arrival high on the agenda over the coming weeks, Hammers’ fans will hope those ‘right’ players are in the market.
