West Ham are reportedly set to reignite their interest in Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car.
The Hammers were heavily linked with the Croatian centre-back during the summer before signing Kurt Zouma from Chelsea.
Now according to a report from Calciomercato, David Moyes could be about to return for the 25-year-old ace.
The report claims that the Irons will face fresh competition from mega-rich Newcastle United in the pursuit of the 19-cap Croatia international.
This season Caleta-Car has earned a 7.07 average Sofascore rating from six Ligue 1 outings.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Continued interest in the Croatian, and indeed any defender is intriguing given the superb defensive performances so far this term.
Moyes has many top-class options at his disposal at present but could already be looking towards life after Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson.
Valued at £16.2million and under contract until 2023 (Transfermarkt), there would appear to be a bargain available and West Ham would be wise to act fast.
