West Ham have been named among ‘several suitors’ for Athletic Bilbao defender Dani Vivian.
The Hammers are believed to showing an interest in the 22-year-old alongside Arsenal, Wolves and Southampton.
Vivian has made a strong return to Bilbao following an impressive loan spell in the Spanish Segunda last season at CD Mirandés.
According to a report from Fichajes.net, as cited by Futbolescencia on Twitter, West Ham have been ‘compiling statistical reports’ on the youngster.
The report claims all three Premier League sides have been keeping a close eye on the Spaniard with a mooted €40million (£34million) release clause.
This season Vivian has scored once in seven La Liga outings – earning an average Sofascore rating of 7.17 in the process, higher than that achieved by Kurt Zouma.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Signing an additional centre-back has certainly become less of a priority following the arrival of Zouma at the London Stadium.
However, as Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna both reach the twilight of their careers, fresh faces could be required next summer.
Valued at £1.35million and under contract until 2023 (Transfermarkt), West Ham and others would likely be confident of landing the defender for below the reported release clause.
