West Ham attacking midfielder Pablo Fornals has backed teammate Jarrod Bowen to follow in his international footsteps.
This comes as the Spaniard was once again called up to be a part of Luis Enrique’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
By contrast, Bowen is yet to represent England at any level despite flourishing for the Hammers since arriving from Hull City in January 2020.
Speaking to WHUTV, as cited by Football.London on Twitter, Fornals suggested that the 24-year-old will warrant international recognition sooner rather than later.
Why not? Soon, England could make a call for him. He deserves it the same or more than players who are going, so I think if he keeps playing at this level, 100 per cent he’s going to have his chance. He’s trying to score every game and he’s playing a massive part of this West Ham team right now.
Bowen netted a first goal of the season in the defeat against Brentford this weekend, adding to the two assists already achieved.

Not unlike Fornals, the road to stardom has been a difficult one for the versatile winger.
One a non-league ace at Hereford, the Leominster-born ace now holds a market value of £27million (Transfermarkt).
Given the high levels of competition in attacking positions, a call up to Gareth Southgate’s ranks won’t come easy. All the Iron can do is continue working hard and suitably impressing.
