West Ham look to have been joined in their interest in a move for Hull City starlet Keane Lewis-Potter.
The Hammers were linked with a move for the winger last week and look to have been joined by Brentford in their admiration.
That’s according to a report from The Athletic, as cited by Philip Buckingham on Twitter claiming that the newly-promoted Bees are keen on the 20-year-old.
The report claims that Brentford ‘held discussions’ with the Championship strugglers over a possible move in the summer but were put off by a £12million price tag.
Since breaking into the first-team picture at Hull, Lewis-Potter has scored 20 goals and provided 10 assists in 86 appearances.
This season the versatile forward has netted three times and added two assists in 12 outings as West Ham and seemingly Brentford watch on with interest.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Signing Lewis-Potter would certainly fit the recent type of deal completed under David Moyes.
Developing a penchant for signing lesser-known potential and allowing it to flourish – see Jarrod Bowen – the Hammers are right to be taking a close look at the Englishman.
Holding a £540,000 market value and under contract in Yorkshire until 2023 (Transfermarkt), it’s of little surprise Brentford baulked at the £12million valuation and West Ham could well do the same.
