West Ham manager David Moyes has admitted Tomas Soucek has been struggling to recapture his best form this season.
The 26-year-old has been a revelation since arriving in east London in 2020 initially on a loan deal from Slavia Prague.
That move was quickly made permanent as the Czech Republic international impressed at the London Stadium.
Following a stunning 10 Premier League goals last season, Soucek has struggled to hit similar heights this term.
Speaking after the defeat to Brentford, as quoted by Football.London and cited on Twitter by WHUFCSC, Moyes confirmed the Czech ace wasn’t in peak form.
Tomas (Soucek) has not quite got on the end of things as well and things have not fallen for him. He scored last week but it was chalked out at Leeds. I think he is fighting for a wee bit of his best form. Is it to do with Declan getting forward a but more? Well, I am hoping the two of them, can get goals and gives us two goalscoring midfield players but I think Tomas has struggled a wee bit, so I don’t disagree with your question.
So far this season the 43-times capped ace has scored once and provided one assist – earning a 6.94 average Sofascore rating in the process.

Whilst Declan Rice has flourished in a more attacking role, Soucek seems to have suffered to pick up the slack.
Undoubtedly a player with immense quality, West Ham fans will be confident the Czech powerhouse will come good once again.
Last season’s midfield mainstays need to work out their roles sooner rather than later to allow both to thrive at their brilliant levels.
