West Ham have reportedly had a bid rejected for Marseille central defender Duje Caleta-Car.
Linked with a move to east London previously, the Hammers are still on the lookout for an additional defender following the departure of Fabian Balbuena and Frederik Alves this summer.
Irons’ boss David Moyes has recently admitted that the position is of priority before the end of the month and speculation over the personnel has been rife.
According to journalist J Montanelli on Twitter, West Ham have made an offer of £15million plus add-ons for the 24-year-old Caleta-Car.

Capped on 16 occasions by Croatia at senior level, Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the Marseille man in January.
Last season, Caleta-Car scored twice and registered one assist in 33 Ligue 1 appearances.

Valued at £22.5million and under contract until 2023 in France (Transfermarkt), it’s perhaps of little surprise that the initial bid has been rejected at the mooted figures.
Prominent aerially, the Croatian when back to fitness would push for a starting role in David Moyes’ side alongside Issa Diop, Craig Dawson or Angelo Ogbonna.
With other potential options such as Kurt Zouma, Nat Phillips and Nayef Aguerd all still available, it promises to be an exciting final eight days of the window in east London.
