Agent of Sao Paulo midfielder and reported West Ham target Igor Gomes has confirmed West Ham have made a loan offer to sign the Brazilian.
The Hammers have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old star as David Moyes looks to strengthen the squad at the London Stadium.
Despite only adding French goalkeeper Alphonse Areola to the ranks so far, the Irons kicked off their Premier League season with a 4-2 victory against Newcastle United over the weekend.
Wagner Ribeiro, agent to the attacking midfielder, told the Canal do Nicola YouTube channel [15/08/21], as cited by FOX Sports Brasil on Twitter, that an offer was forthcoming from east London.

West Ham wanted Igor Gomes on loan, with financial compensation. Sao Paulo refused. It’s not interesting for Sao Paulo, nor for the player.
Gomes played 90 minutes yesterday against Gremio, scoring once in a 2-1 win.
Overall this season the Under 21 youth international has scored twice in 11 league outings – earning an average Sofascore rating of 6.79 in the process.

Signing Gomes would’ve certainly excited the Hammers faithful.
Positional versatile and with an eye for goal from deep, it’s no surprise Moyes was keen to bolster the ranks with the Brazilian.
However, it would seem any loan approach has been rejected and a deal is dead – for now at least.
