Jamie O’Hara predicts relegation battle for West Ham this season

Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara has predicted a difficult 2020/21 domestic season for West Ham

The Hammers are set to embark on a campaign including European football following a sixth-place finish last term.

That added workload will exert more pressure on David Moyes’ squad and could ultimately impact performances further down the line.

Speaking on talkSPORT, as cited by mark carlaw on Twitter, O’Hara believes a problem could be on the horizon.

The 34-year-old, who made 93 Premier League appearances during a playing career, highlighted Michail Antonio‘s injury record and lack of alternative as a particular area of concern.

Last term the striker netted 10 league goals and added five assists despite missing 13 games through various issues.

Unfortunately, whilst former Tottenham man O’Hara’s bleak prediction may be overkill, in terms of squad depth there is certainly a problem at the London Stadium.

Having allowed Sebastien Haller to leave the club in January, a striker replacement should’ve been lined up with immediate effect.

Instead, we are seven months down the line and on the brink of a new campaign and still, Moyes must rely on an injury-prone Antonio.
